and the first time Jeff put his arm around me, haha!
But now that we're old and married and don't have to impress each other, I'm glad we still run together. Of course Emily is always along for the ride in the jogging stroller- which adds a whole new element. If you run, you know how fun it is to pass people- well it's a whole new level of satisfaction to pass someone while pushing the stroller.
Recently we ran a 2 mile race on the levy and Jeff pushed Emily in the stroller and we all crossed the finish line in 13:30. Emily was first in the baby division, I was second for the women, and Jeff was second in his age division. Afterward when Jeff went up to get his medal the announcer saw him and said, "Hey, stroller guy!" Yes, Jeff is more than happy to be "stroller guy"- but watch out, he's a fast stroller guy!
Anyway, running is a great family activity!

Wow! Good job, Emily! You are a born runner! Amy and Jeff, you did pretty good too. ;)
ReplyDeleteWay to go guys!
ReplyDelete(Explain, Jeff holding up seven fingers for a four mile race....7k?)
That's funny, Heather, we were holding up our time- 31:25.
ReplyDeleteWow! I am a duly impressed auntie! Good on ya! I'm grateful just to wake up every morning and be able to wiggle my toes. Then I know it's a good day!
ReplyDeleteHugs from Aunt Vicki!
That's awesome that you run together as a couple and with your cute little daughter in the stroller. I just started running longer distances this summer with friends, and I'm working on my first 10k. I hope to one day run a half marathon but I'll have to work up to it. It's fun to read your blog. You can check out mine at hillogan.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed, but can't say that I'm too surprised. You guys are amazing!
