Emily girl at 3 years old

We love our Emily girl! She turned three last month. This girl keeps us on our toes- each day is a new scenario and as she grows and changes, we learn and grow as parents. Emily is sweet, fun, and busy! And talkative! She's an early bird- always wakes up cheerful, with a "Good morning, Mom! I think Mr. Sun is out. It's time to play!" She is cheerful and easy going when well rested (...and can be short-fused when not rested- must take after her mom??) Her initial reaction when frustrated is to scream- yikes! So we're working on that. Emily is learning to make good choices and loves to hear that her eyes get shiny-bright and beautiful after she makes a good choice. We call her our light-bright girl and that makes her feel special.

Emily is 100% girl through and through and is so into princesses and dressing up. She has an incredible memory and loves to sing and knows at least one song for each princess. She likes to sound out words even if it's not quite right- "Dad, Dad, Daddy- Dad is for Daddy!" or "Em, Em, Emily. Em is for Emily!"

Em is a good big sister and has recently taken more interest in Katie as a playmate. I have to keep an eye on her though because sometimes she gets a little too crazy. For example, she loves to pull Katie in the jumpy seat and send her swinging.

Emily is imaginative and clever- her she is talking to Grandma on the cell phone- she was calling the phone "baby Grandma" and she tucked her (the phone) into bed to read her stories.

Emily has a good group of friends her age. Here she is with Halle, probably talking about what princess they want to be.

Emily loves Daddy- here she is hiding when he got home late one night. I love how her hands are showing while she hides under the pillow.
Em knows Daddy is a softie and he will hold her hand and sing while she falls asleep.

Love you, sweet Emily!
